What Is a CCR&R?
Child care resource and referral agencies (CCR&Rs) are located throughout the United States. Their primary purpose is to help parents find quality child care. However, these organizations also provide other valuable services to their communities including:
- Supporting families to raise healthy children through workshops, newsletters, and other print materials.
- Building the supply and quality of child care by supporting providers through training, resources, and other means.
- Documenting child care needs and trends using the well-maintained databases of local child care information.
- Building coalitions with other community partners, including education and business, to strengthen family support for child rearing.
- Advocating for the needs of children, families and child care providers.
Most CCR&Rs are members of the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA).
